maybe nothing will be done. But in a world of social media, its not easily forgotten. I thing if it is swept under the carpet it will come back to the FIA and bite them hard!15-12-2021 22:48

I do believe that there will be ramifications for all the teams, especially the 2 involved. It appears that Max will (rightly) retain his WDC. It would be too much of an embarrassment to strip him of the WDC. There is a lot to be learned about what was done right, what can be improved. I think the right decision will be reached with no change to the end result. The clarity of the race director and his integrity will come under close scrutiny, as well as Merc and RedBull. We want the sport as a whole to get better and maybe we can have more racing like what we saw this season. The end result on Sunday is irrelevant now. The future needs to be made clear, rules need to followed.15-12-2021 21:25

Oh it’s been an epic season. No two ways about it! I’ve loved every moment of it. I haven’t seen a proper ding dong since 2016 and 2007. You have to admit, Lewis Hamilton has been involved in all the best championship battles over the last 14 years. I can count 5 on the top of my head that are memorable. This is the first time that Max has been involved and we have seen what he can do. His speed is unquestionable. His craft will get better. His humility… well I’m not sure. I hope he improves with age. I remember a young Lewis Hamilton at McLaren who at times had a ‘chip on his shoulder’. He has matured and moved on. I wish the same for all the drivers out here.13-12-2021 21:49

McLaren are a great team with fantastic pedigree and heritage. They have never been shy to give youngsters a shot! We’ve had KMag,, Vandoorne, Perez, Lando and of course our own Lewis Hamilton. Also they have had undoubtedly one of the best ever drivers ever known - Ayrton Senna! Also Prost and the great Niki Lauda as well. The MTC is only down the road for me. Having Norris and Danny Ric is great. I even have a cap and t-shirt from the recent Honda days which was signed by Button and Alonso13-12-2021 21:20

What a race yesterday, I wasnt expecting that at all. What a complete mess. There has since been plenty of debate over the manner in the way that race was ended. Max supporters are in favour and Lewis fans are incensed. I've been catching up with worldwide press and they have been scathing of the farce that this has become. Max Verstappen is a worthy and deserving World Champion. Michael Masi is a disgrace as an F1 race director, and Formula 1’s rules are not much better. There needs to be some recourse. But Max has had some questionalble moments throughout the season. His uncomprimising style is not for everyone. But he has done alot right, you cant change that fact either, a great driver and he will only get better with experience, something that Lewis Hamilton has an abundance of due to his long term experience and success in this sport. Either one if these competitors deserved to be champions. Hamilton would have been fully deserving of this title as well, Lets not waste too much time on the result as this is largely irrelevent, as this is not what i want to talk about. Everything about that Abu Dhabi scenario appeared either ad hoc or contrived, whichever stance you want to take. Many, especially those with a leaning towards Mercedes, would say it was also a bit fishy. For Michael Masi to play 'god mode' with their own rules, then, took everyone by surprise – especially after contradicting themselves by saying lapped cars would not be allowed to overtake was baffeling. If the desire to get the race finished under green was so important, then it could have been done in a much fairer way with a red flag and then a complete fresh restart. However, getting back to the subject, Ross Brawn is right and the 2 bosses of their respective teams have over stepped the mark on numerous occasions, i personally don't care who did what, but the whole spectacle of the race ending was tarnished and ruined by the FIA due to pressure applied by those 2 team bosses. Because of this event, this championship is tainted. Personally i do hope that Mercedes drop their protest to re-instate Lewis as the winner, but i do hope Mercedes and Redbull push for reforms in the FIA and the inconsistant stewardship displayed this season. I'm not sure if Michael Masi's position is now not longer tenable - hence meaning he will still probably be in the position at the start of next season!! Finally - i don't support Max or Redbull, i think he is a talented driver, but quite raw, needs some refining, I don't like his attitude outside the car either., I'm not a Lewis fan per-say, but would favor him over Max because he is English - just being transparent. My team is McLaren due to my personal links with that team.13-12-2021 15:16

Max is an F1 Champion now, i hope his ontrack behavoiur is improved - like a champion.13-12-2021 15:33

Yeah. Great points you make. Max looked absolutely dejected today and was left to stew in his own thoughts. He is still young. For me, this is why he may not make the WDC this year.06-12-2021 01:35

Ohhhh. This is clearly what’s happening. Something I saw after the race is clearly resonating with me. Personally I feel Max is being ‘let down’ by his management team, ie his father. I also believe Redbull management have a big role in this. You need to manage expectations and not fill his head with crap, which is what I feel is happening. Another thing, post race. Lewis has his PT/life coach straight after a race. Max has no-one whilst sipping his drink. This kid needs clear guidance and grounding. A World Champion needs to be strong in heart and mind, as well as being able to win. I really hope he gets this, I think if he had he’d already would have clinched the title by now. Or go back to the rule of 2 corners. It was put in against Hamilton. And it worked too06-12-2021 01:38

This one is going to have serious divided opinions. But in the ‘old days’ of proper stewards unlike this year, I remember an incident in 2007 I believe where Lewis had to give Kimi a place back for something. And Kimis tyres were shot and Lewis promptly took it back again. Rule that was put in at that point was you had to race for 2 corners before attempting another overtake. Am I mistakenly?06-12-2021 00:48
